Red Hot start for World Buffet

THE biggest restaurant in the region has made a ‘flying start’ after just a month in Manchester.

Red Hot World Buffet, which can seat 375 people at its new Deansgate location is taking around £100,000 per week as it shakes up the competitive city centre market place.

Red Hot, which is based in Nottingham, opened in Liverpool and Leeds last year. Its £2m+ 27,000sq ft site on the corner of Blackfriars  Street, is the biggest in the group.

The concept offers around 300 different dishes from a variety of cultures, from traditional English fare to Indian, Chinese, Italian, Tex-Mex and Japanese.

Prices start from £8 for lunch during the week, rising to £15 for dinner at the weekend.

Founder Pamjit Dhaliwal told TheBusinessDesk.com: “We are really pleased with the early progress Manchester is making,  particularly as May is not usually a strong month. Our other launches have tended to be in the run-up to Christmas.

“I believe we have found the right product, at right time and at the right price, I believe we are offering something new to the market  place – the quality of a la carte dining with the  variety and choice of of buffet dining.”

Red Hot, which is turning over around £500,000 a week at the present across its six sites, is in the throes of a roll-out. It has just
started wortk on a site in Cardiff and plans to open a new replacement site in Notingham and open in Leicester and Coventry.

“The success of the business is driving our growth – we believe that out model is perfect for the economic conditions and it’s up to us
to get it out to as many cities as we can.

“We started as a small business, but our investment in the three northern cities has showed us the potential.”

As well as proving popular with students and families, the business has attracted large numbers of office workers and, when a second floor fit-out is complete, aims to tap in to the corporate market.
