Deloitte calls on ‘fast’ tech firms

THE Deloitte Fast 50 Technology awards, which celebrate fast-growing tech firms, are open for entries.
The awards, now in their 14th year, recognise and rank technology companies which have had a constant growth in turnover over the last five years.
Blackburn-based Bglobal, which supplies smart metering products, was ranked sixth by Deloitte last year.
It was joined in the top 10 by ninth-placed UK Grid, a Manchester company that designs and builds data centres for computer systems.
Other North West businesses that made the list were Clitheroe-based digital magazine publisher Yudu at 35 and Manchester web content firm M247, which made 45th place.
Will Smith, technology partner in Deloitte’s North West practice, said: “The North has a strong entrepreneurial spirit and businesses with this desire to innovate often see the type of huge growth we seek to acknowledge in the Fast 50 Technology Awards.”
Last year’s overall winning entry was London-based Mobile Interactive Group (MIG), which provides mobile and digital technology services and owns Manchester-based mobile marketing firm Piri.
