Workplace honour for UKfast

MANCHESTER-based hosting provider UKFast has won a place in the UK’s 50 Best Workplaces 2011.

Founder and managing director Lawrence Jones said: “The development and happiness of our employees is at the heart of the UKFast ethos, so it is fantastic to be recognised for this.”

Having appeared in the list, organised by The Great Place to Work Institute, for the last two years, UKFast sits alongside British Gas, Ernst & Young LLP, Telefonica O2 UK Limited and Microsoft.

This year, UKFast was placed second in the UK for providing its employees with a fun and friendly workplace.

Mr Jones added: “We work a third of our lives, play a third and sleep a third. So at UKFast it’s really important that people get the most out of their time in the office.”

The Great Place to Work Institute defines a ‘great workplace’ as a place where people have pride in what they do, trust the organisation they work for and enjoy working with their colleagues.

The Institute’s annual survey is the largest of its kind, analysing results from 1.5 million individuals.
