Chorlton’s Horse & Jockey sold

THE freehold for Chorlton pub The Horse & Jockey has been bought by its operator from Punch Taverns, for an undisclosed sum.
Peter Dalton acquired the lease for the pub in December 2008 and has since invested around £300,000 in refurbishing the business, including a new a 40-cover restaurant.
Following the purchase, Mr Dalton said he now plans to add six bedrooms and a micro brewery.
Christie & Co acted on behalf of Mr Dalton to secure the deal.
Keith Stringer, associate director of Christie & Co, said: “We are delighted to have been able to help Peter acquire the freehold of a business in which he has but so much time and effort.
“We are confident that the pub will continue to go from strength to strength as a result of his stewardship and his new plans for the business.”
Mr Dalton’s first venue was the acclaimed Manto Bar located on Manchester’s Canal Street.
