Businessman’s SME offer to double Many Hands pledge

BANKER turned small business coach Stewart McCombe’s firm has become one of the first companies to pass the £1,000 milestone for the Many Hands Campaign.

Mr McCombe, whose son was treated at the hospital, for which charity campaign is raising funds for, is now hoping to raise another £1,000 in the second half of the year.

Many Hands Campaign, which is a 12 month long initiative to engage small and medium sized businesses to raise a minimum of £1,000 for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.

BBC Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis is spearheading the campaign, which was launched in February at an event in which Mr McCombe spoke about his son Duncan’s treatment at the hospital for a brain tumour.

He reached his target by taking part in this year’s Great Manchester Run. However, he is not stopping there, as his firm William Ritchie Ltd is offering a day’s consulting to up to 10 SME’s in the Manchester area who will donate a minimum of £100 to the charity.

Mr McCombe said: “As a family, raising money for the charity has always been important, and the Many Hands Campaign has been the perfect opportunity to include my business as well.

“I am now looking forward to spending my time with local businesses as part of my continued fundraising initiatives.”

The Many Hands Campaign is holding its first networking event on June 27 at The Alchemist, Spinningfields.

Brother UK’s Sales and Marketing Director, Phil Jones, will be talking at the event on Corporate Social Responsibility.
