Friends reunited as Stenton joins NorthEdge

RAY Stenton, the former North West boss of mid-market private equity house LDC, has been reunited with ex-colleagues Grant Berry and Andy Ball at their new venture NorthEdge Capital.
Stenton is expected to be the first of several new arrivals at NorthEdge, which counts former banker Tim Murphy and entrepreneur Dan Wright as its other two founding partners.
Stenton, who left LDC a year ago to be replaced by Carl Wormald, has joined as a director and will lead NorthEdge’s foray into mid-market deals.
NorthEdge was originally focused on distressed deals, but has now become a lower mid-market PE fund targeting deals in the £20m to £100m value range and looking to invest between £5m and £25m.
