Heat Depot acquires new premises

FIREPLACE specialist The Heat Depot has acquired new premises in Middleton, Greater Manchester.
The family-owned firm conducts most of its business online through its hotprice.co.uk site but is keen to drive over-the-counter sales.
It has bought a two-storey, 10,000 sq ft retail site off Oldham Road with backing from Barclays Bank. The bank did not disclose the size of the loan.
Owner and managing director Justin Emsley said: “We are very excited by the prospect of opening a new retail showroom. Currently, 95% of our sales are generated online but our aim is to drive 50% through the new store.
“The new site will provide eight times more floor space than our existing premises, enabling us to have lots of live product displays. Whether it’s solar panels, high efficiency gas fires or wood burning systems, we want The Heat Depot to be a one-stop-shop offering complete heating solutions to our customers.”
Wayne Dixon, relationship director at Barclays Busines, said: “We are delighted to assist a family run local business in the Middleton area in achieving its aspiration to have a retail showroom to enable future growth.”
