Livesey wins approval on Dartford scheme

TRAFFORD Park-based developer PJ Livesey Group and its development partners have been granted approval to redevelop the Stone House Hospital site at Dartford in East London.
The firm has just been granted detailed planning approval alongside Ward Homes, Moat and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) to convert the site into 260 new homes, including 116 affordable homes and apartments.
The 15.1 acre site initially opened in 1866 as the London Lunatic Asylum and was taken into the National Health Service after World War II. It remained as part of the NHS until its closure in 2007. Alongside the homes planned for the site, there are recreational areas, and a former chapel will be converted into offices.
James Woodmansee, development director at the PJ Livesey Group, said the decision by Dartford Borough Council to grant planning approval “reflects our dedication to the project and commitment to the community”.
“We are delighted that after many years of hard work and a lot of blood sweat and tears, work can now finally start on this very important and historic site.
“It has been a real team effort and we intend to be on site as soon as possible to bring these buildings back into use.”
