Blackpool plant hire firm closes

A CONSTRUCTION and plant hire company in Blackpool employing 20 staff has been placed into administration following an unsuccessful attempt at diversification.
Fox Bros (North West) and Fox Civils were both placed into administration on June 24, with Paul Stanley and Jason Greenhalgh from Manchester-based insolvency firm appointed as joint administrators.
Fox Brothers offered plant such as tower cranes, mobile cranes, access platforms and diggers to construction companies from three depots in Lancashire, Preston and Blackburn.
More recently, the firm launched Fox Civils as a civil engineering contracting division but both companies have now ceased trading and administrators are in the process of selling off equipment owned by Fox Bros.
Begbies Traynor was contacted, but declined to comment.
