Bramall wins £1.6m affordable housing contract
BRAMALL Construction has won a £1.6m contract to build 12 two-bedroom apartments and six bungalows at Clarke Gardens in Widnes.
The redevelopment scheme for Halton Housing Trust will provide affordable housing and transform the empty brownfield site, which was the former home of a bedsit scheme.
Work on the site is set to begin in mid-January and is expected to be completed in around nine months.
Merseyside-based Bramall Construction, which specialises in developing new buildings for the social housing sector, is part of the Keepmoat Group.
Steve Parrington, Bramall’s construction director, said: “Bramall Construction has worked with Halton Housing Trust for nearly five years in refurbishment. This project will allow us to deliver more homes that are eco efficient and we’re also improving disabled access in certain properties, to ensure we cater for everyone’s needs.”
Neil McGrath, director of resources at Halton Housing Trust, said: “These are exciting times for the area. This is a major construction project that will improve the lives of many people in the local community.”
