In Brief: Brabners helps with lost Lennon mosaic; Brammer refinances

LAWYERS at Brabners Chaffe Street in Liverpool have helped a Swedish businessman re-acquire a swimming pool mosaic designed by John Lennon.

The ‘Psychedelic Eye’ adorned Lennon’s swimming pool at his 1960s family home Kenwood in Surrey.

Brabners acted for a Gothenburg-based entrepreneur and his art collector wife who have reached an out of court settlement with Wirral-based Wladek Reszczynski.

The Swedish couple, who have not been named, bought Kenwood in 1982 and loaned the mosaic to the Liverpool Garden Festival in 1984.

They then thought it was moved to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital but when they checked in 2005 they found it had never reached the facility.

With the help of their friend Bernard Cochrane they discovered it had been found and restored by Mr Reszczynski who was involved with clearing the festival site. In 2003 Mr Reszczynski put the mosaic on show at the Museum of Liverpool Life in the Albert Dock and it was later displayed at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

“After securing an amicable settlement with the individual, the rightful owners were finally reunited with it after all this time,” said Brabners in a statement.
