Blackpool’s ‘oldest’ skip firm in administration

A firm which billed itself as the oldest skip hire business in Blackpool has gone into administration.

Smith’s Skip Hire was founded more than 40 years ago and is part of the JAP Group, a Poulton-le-Fylde waste specialist that continues to trade.

Administrators from the Lancaster office of the accountancy firm JM Marriott have been appointed to the business but could not be reached for comment.

According to JAP’s website Smith’s Skips was working with some of the largest companies on the Fylde coast in sectors such as construction and leisure.

The site adds: “We are the premier skip hire company on the Fylde coast, largely due to our long term working relationships combined with reliability and competitive pricing.”
