Colette Morgan-Ford has joined law firm Weightmans from Pinsent Masons as a partner in the construction team.

Morgan-Ford joins nine other specialist construction lawyers in the Manchester office.

She has more than 15 years experience specialising in dispute resolution and strategic advice in relation to construction and engineering projects, including PFI.

She has represented contractors, sub contractors, employers and developers in adjudication, litigation, mediation and arbitration.

Shearings Leisure Group, the specialist operator of escorted tours and leisure hotels, has welcomed Jane Atkins on board as strategy director.

Atkins, who joins in May, is currently UK and international sales director at SuperBreak, the short-break specialist operator owned by Cox & King. She previously held senior roles at Freedom Travel Group, MyTravel and Rainbow Holidays.

Her appointment follows that of Richard Calvert, currently president and chief executive of US-based global holiday operator Celebration Travel Group, who takes up his position as CEO at Shearings next month.

Commenting on the appointment, Calvert said: “We are delighted to have Jane on board to help drive strategic and sustainable growth and business improvement across the portfolio of brands within the Shearings Leisure Group.

“She is an experienced operator with a reputation for building high-performing, customer-focused businesses and is well-respected across the travel industry. This is a time of momentum and new growth ambition for the group, and Jane brings valuable expertise to the senior team.”

Lancaster-based IT firm Q2Q IT has hired a business development manager to support its ambitious growth plans.

Laura Sharkey joins the company with expertise in business development, sales and marketing for some of the UK’s largest awarding organisations, including Training Qualifications UK.

Her role at Q2Q will concentrate on identifying and maximising business opportunities, as well as account management and support of the wider team.

Q2Q is a turnkey provider of managed IT support for clients including Lyle & Scott, Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and CME Medical.

Media services business dock10, which has worked on TV series including Happy Valley, Last Tango in Halifax and Wolfblood, has recruited Seth Bell as post producer.

Bell has several years’ experiences in production and post having worked in London for Motion Picture Solutions and most recently as post production manager for international short-form creative agency Picture Production Company.

The post producer position we see Bell working alongside a team of artists as an integral part of dock10’s industry-leading VFX department, reporting to senior producers and the head of VFX.

Chris Baker, head of VFX at dock10, added: “Seth brings to dock10 a wealth of experience working in post production. His role will be central to our operation, communicating with and managing clients effectively while closely collaborating with our team of creatives and operators. Seth will be responsible for managing projects throughout the post production process.”
