Freeths celebrates fee income rise to £72m

Top 60 UK law firm Freeths has announced another consecutive year of growth, with annual fee income rising to £72m, a 12.7% increase on last year.

The Manchester office of Freeths has experienced a growth of 20% in staff hires over the past year, strengthened by the latest appointments of Charlotte Rees-John as an employment partner, Simon Ellis as a director in litigation and Sarah Moore as a senior associate in corporate.

With 11 offices across the UK, Freeths has a presence in the majority of the main cities and has seen staff numbers increase from 683 in 2015 to a current total of 784.

The firm has a client base ranging from local businesses and public sector organisations to national and international household names.

John May, managing partner of the Manchester office, said: “The news of our financial achievements, locally and nationally, is testament to the hard work of our staff.

“It has been a busy year of growth across the firm and we work hard as a team to deliver the results our clients want, whilst being in the fortunate position to also be able to invest time and resource to the local community and charity initiatives.”

Freeths also recently achieved its highest ranking in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to work for, at number 50.

It was also accredited as a best company 2017, receiving a two-star rating. The firm has been recognised widely for its diversity over the past few years, winning ‘Firm of the Year’ at the UK Diversity Legal Awards and receiving a highly commended Award for ‘Inclusive Recruitment’ at the Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion (ENEI) Awards.

Stonewall also recognises the firm as a Diversity Champion.
