DWF set to close Preston office

Manchester-based law firm DWF is to close its Preston office and relocate its five-strong team of partners to launch a specialist motor services team in Liverpool.

The Preston contingent, led by partner Steve Hicket will move to the Liverpool hub in the next six months.

The existing team includes five other partners: head of motor, fraud, costs and claimant teams Nigel Teasdale; partners James Pinder, Anand Raghupati; and director Jewels Chamberlain.

The firm told The Lawyer website that after renewing its office lease in Liverpool, the space is being redesigned “to offer a more contemporary working environment, utilising the latest technology and working practices”.

A spokesperson said that there would be “jobs for everyone” although it would be up to individual fee-earners, staff and teams to make the decision to move to Liverpool.

DWF managing partner Andrew Leaitherland said: “We are creating a strategic centre of excellence for motor work, where best practice is developed and shared across the team and ultimately the entire firm.

“Bringing our Preston and Liverpool motor work into one location will allow us to create a hub that focuses on quality and excellent client service delivery, with a true understanding and focus on our client needs.”
