SiS strikes big deal with Cycling Australia

Lancashire-based sports nutrition company Science in Sport has become the official supplier of its products to Cycling Australia, the nationally recognized body for cycling Down Uner.

The Nelson-headquartered AIM-listed firm says the deal is in line with its continued expansion into fast-growing international sports markets.

The supplier deal will run for four years, effective May 2017, and will see SiS support the Australian Cycling Team up to and including the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Australian Cycling Team will work directly with SiS and its team of sports nutrition experts to create bespoke nutritional strategies to fuel their world-class athletes.

Nutrition plans will be tailored for each individual athlete and will include a wide range of SiS products, including the Company’s isotonic GO Gels for energy, REGO Rapid Recovery to aid recovery after exercise and innovative WHEY20 protein product.

In addition to the Australian Cycling Team the broader Cycling Australia membership of 50,000 cyclists will benefit from exclusive offers from SiS, as well as nutritional guidance throughout each year.

Cycling Australia has a wide digital bias in its databases with a further 350,000 athletes across all social media channels.

SiS Chief Executive Stephen Moon said: “Signing such an agreement with a well-established cycling body, I believe only underpins the strength and best in class nature of our sports nutrition products.

“As we continue to expand our footprint in the attractive and fast-growing Australian sports nutrition market, we are excited to have the opportunity to work with the substantial Cycling Australia membership of circa 50,000 cyclists as they seek to achieve their personal goals, and improve their fitness and wellbeing.”

Cycling Australia’s chief operating officerNicholas Green said: “We are pleased to confirm this partnership with industry leaders SiS. Nutrition is an integral and critical component of every athlete’s success and the SiS world-renowned experts ensure our national teams are in great hands.

“With our elite riders having the opportunity to work alongside SiS staff to tailor their own plans, and all our members having access to the SiS expertise, we look forward to seeing all our cyclists achieve their very best.”
