Former managing director of the money channels of Moneysupermarket.com Stuart Glendinning, has returned to the UK to help push Chester based Fintech company Digitonomy, into the prime loans market which, to date, is dominated by the price comparison sites.

Glendinning, who has 17 years’ experience in price comparison, has spent recent years driving the growth of price comparison in Asia where this type of service is still relatively new and going through rapid expansion.

He was chief sales officer for CompareAsia Group whose head office is in Hong Kong.
Glendinning said: “There is no bigger fan of price comparison sites than I but after 17 years in the sector no-one knows their weaknesses better.

“ When it comes to personal loans they do not offer the consumer a good experience because they show typical interest rates and the customer does not know which lender will accept their application.

“Our latest venture will focus on giving customers a much better experience and improve their chances of finding the best deal.”

“Digitonomy has already established itself as a leading force in the digital personal finance sector and I am excited to join such a fast-growing business.  Digitonomy is one of those ‘super-successful businesses that no-one has ever heard of’ and I am excited at the prospect of improving the market for consumers.”
