Cavendish Nuclear, the UK’s largest supplier of nuclear services has moved into Birchwood Park at Warrington.

The global operator will occupy the entire 47,149sq ft space at 106 Dalton Avenue, relocating from sites in Irlam, Greater Manchester and Daresbury Park in Cheshire.

Patrizia UK’s 106 Dalton Avenue falls within the Cheshire Science Corridor Enterprise Zone, meaning Cavendish Nuclear will now enjoy a variety of benefits including savings of up to £275,000 on business rates over five years.

The business delivers services across the lifecycle of nuclear energy including plant design and construction, site operations and maintenance, as well as nuclear decommissioning and waste management.

Kevin Garvie at Cavendish Nuclear, said: “Birchwood has been at the heart of the UK’s nuclear industry for many years, so it made complete sense for us to join this world-class cluster for nuclear engineering, research, training and project delivery.”

He said employees of Cavendish Nuclear will be in prime position to take advantage of the excellent on-site amenities at the park’s business and leisure destination, The Centre, which range from a restaurant and Starbucks, to a fully-equipped gym and auditorium.

Garvie added: “Enterprise Zone status gives us an unrivalled opportunity for collaboration with other science and engineering businesses, as well as support to grow. We’re delighted to become a part of the Cheshire Science Corridor Enterprise Zone and look forward to developing strong links here at Birchwood Park and beyond.”

Martin O’Rourke, commercial director at Birchwood Park added: “The arrival of Cavendish Nuclear is a great way to mark one year of the Cheshire Science Corridor Enterprise Zone.

“I’m confident that the network of companies across the Enterprise Zone, as well as the unique cluster of nuclear businesses here, will provide Cavendish Nuclear with endless growth opportunities while at Birchwood Park.”

Lambert Smith Hampton secured the premises on behalf of Cavendish Nuclear and will be project managing the high-spec fit-out of the three-storey office building, which will accommodate over 550 members of staff.
