People on the move: PwC; WHN Solicitors

Professional services firm PwC has announced that that Jonathan Studholme will succeed Martin Heath as the Liverpool office leader with effect from July 1.

The follows Heath’s retirement from the firm after 33 years.

Studholme joined the Liverpool office almost two years ago, from the Manchester office, and has quickly built an impressive list of audit wins.

He will continue to be supported by Mark Armstrong, tax director and Mathew Edwards, transaction services director. Tom Binns, assurance director will transfer to Liverpool over the summer to provide further support.

Heath said:  “My five years in Liverpool have been amongst the most rewarding in my career – it’s a transformed City with a renewed sense of purpose and belief, a vibrancy powered by ambition and enthusiasm in the face of real challenges.

Studholme said: “I am thrilled by the opportunity to lead the Liverpool office. Under Martin’s leadership we have created real momentum: growing our practice, helping our clients and supporting the local community.”

Seasoned legal accounting manager Ian Roberts has been appointed as head cashier by law firm WHN Solicitors, based in Rawtenstall, East Lancashire.

Roberts, 30, who is ATT-qualified, joins WHN with 12 years’ experience in accounting and has held roles at firms including HL Interactive, Nesbit Law Group and Carter Law.

He has joined WHN with a remit to improve its current accounting system and enhance its financial processes in a move which will drive forward the firm’s growth plans.

Born and bred in Norden, Rochdale, Roberts will also oversee the firm’s cashier team. He will work closely with WHN’s finance director Mike Gillibrand and partner David Connor.

He said: “One of the most compelling reasons to join WHN is the friendly professionalism of everyone at the firm. I was also very impressed with WHN’s dynamic expansion plans and am keen to help realise the exciting strategy to grow the business in a number of key areas.”

Connor said: “Ian is a valuable and welcome addition to our team. His wealth of knowledge and experience of legal accounting and financial systems will be of enormous benefit to our growth strategy.

Roberts began his accounting career in 2005 and completed the AAT accounting diploma qualification in 2014.
