Online lifestyle retailer quadruples warehouse space as it eyes £65m sales
One of the fastest growing multi-channel lifestyle retailers in the UK has taken a 120,000 sq ft flagship warehouse in the North West as it sets its sights on achieving sales of £65m.
Fully operational by the end of August, DOMU Brands leased the space in Middleton to support its continued UK expansion after outgrowing its existing 32,000 sq ft warehousing in Bolton.
DOMU Brands says it is on course to achieve gross sales of more than £65m, an increase of 40% from the previous year. The warehouse acquisition follows on from an expansion of the company’s headquarters, rebrand and overseas operations.
Debuting in the Sunday Times FastTrack 100 in 2015, the company has seen rapid growth across its UK, EU and US operations and was ranked in the top 100 in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 earlier this year.
Now employing more than 100 staff, DOMU Brands, which offers a range of home and kitchen products under the VonHaus and VonShef brands, said it is likely to expand into the entire 170,000 sq ft building in due course.
Mark Januszewski, chief executive of DOMU Brands, said: “We’re an incredibly ambitious business and after seeing consistent year on year growth, it was inevitable that we’d outgrow our current warehouse premises.
“We needed a space that would grow with us and our new facility is part of our long-term strategy to streamline and augment our UK order fulfilment.”
The distribution centre will fulfil orders from Amazon UK, Tesco, eBay and the company’s e-commerce site, Domu.co.uk.
The building at Stakehill Industrial Estate, Middleton, is owned by national transport and distribution firm Howard Tenens which undertook a £4m refurbishment of the building earlier in the year. The deal was brokered by BC Real Estate.

“Coupled with the excellent connectivity Stakehill offers, it’s the ideal distribution solution for the company at this point in time.”
