Planning applications tabled for Frontier Park

Monte, the developer behind Frontier Park in Blackburn has submitted two further planning applications for the scheme.

The company, which is the development vehicle of Zuber and Moshin Issa tabled a reserved matters application for a 186,000sq ft B8 warehouse to be determined before the end of October.

This would allow construction to start at the end of the year, once the scheme enabling works are complete. This unit will be available for occupation in September 2018.

A second application has been submitted for a 95,250sq ft, 1,400 person capacity conference centre and 150-bedroom hotel on 15 acres at the front of the scheme.

Zuber Issa said|: “Frontier Park is part of Monte’s vision to develop a prestigious new business park on the M65 and demonstrates the firm’s ongoing commitment to investing in Lancashire.

“Our investment in this scheme and the operators already committed shows the area is now increasingly attractive for business investment and yet more jobs for the borough and surrounding area will be created.”

Construction work started in May, 2017 to provide a new access, service connections and topographical remodelling. This phase is well progressed and scheduled for completion at end of the year.

Work on the Euro Garages service area, which fronts the Whitebirk roundabout, will start in August with an opening scheduled for December, 2017.

GVA and Trevor Dawson are the retained agents for the scheme.
