Bentley to take CFO role at financial advice group

Salford Quays-based independent financial adviser and asset protection specialist Frenkel Topping Group says Stephen Bentley will be joining its board as its chief financial officer.

He will take up the post in September once approval by the FCA has been received.

Bentley will replace Julie Dean who has left the company after 11 years.

He has more than 30 years of senior/board level experience as a finance director of public and private companies.

Since March 2009, Bentley has held the role of group finance director of Jade Equity, an industrial textile manufacturer operating throughout Europe and the USA.

Prior to that, he spent more than 10 years at Brunner Mond Group, where he served as the group finance director.

He was involved in the company’s flotation on the London Stock Exchange and in its subsequent take private process. In 2006, he supported the sale of the business to Tata Chemicals for a value of £190m.

Bentley is FCA-qualified, having completed his articles with Whinney Murray & Co.

Frenkel Topping Group executive chairman Jason Granite said: “I am absolutely delighted that Stephen Bentley has agreed to join the board as our new finance director. I have known Stephen for over 15 years and his experience and knowledge will undoubtedly add significant value to our growth plans as we take the company to the next level.”
