Pieter Totté

The high profile executive chairman and founder of baking ingredients business Real Good Food Pieter Totté has resigned from the company with immediate effect.

Totté founded Real Good Food in 2003 and acted as non-executive chairman until November 2009, when he assumed the role of executive chairman.

This follows last week’s announcement that the company, which recently invested £7m in the Renshaw facility in Liverpool, were on course to be half of what was expected.

Totté was named as one of two directors who were named as having received payments for consultancy services which had not been separately disclosed. He received £250,000 in 2014, 350,000 in 2015 and £1.21m in 2016.

The London based company has also announced the appointment of Harveen Rai as financial director and company secretary.

Rai will replace David Newman, who will be stepping down from the board with immediate effect but who will remain with the company for a period of time in order to ensure an orderly handover.

Pat Ridgwell, non-executive director has assumed the role as interim chairman until a permanent chairman, can be appointed and Christopher Thomas, currently a non-executive director has assumed the role of executive director.

Hugh Cawley has also been unveiled as non-executive director of the ompany with immediate effect.

Judith Mackenzie, who was appointed to the board as non-executive director on June 29, 2017, will take on the role as head of the remuneration committee.
