Iconic lingerie brand launching in Arndale

Victoria’s Secret is to open a new 9,760sq ft store in Manchester Arndale early next year – the brand’s eighth store outside London.

Joint venture partners M&G Real Estate and intu have confirmed it will provide letting for sister brands Victoria’s Secret and Victoria’s Secret PINK to trade side by side in 5,906sq ft and 3,854sq ft respectively.

Victoria’s Secret will feature a full range of the brand’s iconic lingerie collections, as well as Victoria’s Secret PINK, the lifestyle brand celebrating college women and campus life.

The shop will complement the centre’s already extensive fashion line-up, which includes the likes of Superdry, Zara, Next, Hollister and Urban Outfitters.

This follows news of Paul Smith signing for the partnership’s nearby New Cathedral Street boutique destination.

Colin Flinn, regional managing director at intu said on behalf of the joint venture: “Welcoming such a sought after international name such as Victoria’s Secret to Manchester Arndale is hugely positive.

“As retailers continue to assess their portfolios to ensure they are in the most prominent shopping hotspots, Victoria’s Secret, as with Paul Smith, put Manchester city centre firmly on its list.”

M&G Real Estate and intu are also expanding their restaurant and café offer, having recently announced an investment of £11m in the redevelopment of Halle Square, which will become Halle Place, a new contemporary casual dining destination at the heart of the centre.

The retained agents acting for intu and M&G Real Estate at Manchester Arndale and on the New Cathedral Street parade are JLL and Metis Real Estate Advisors and CBRE advised Victoria’s Secret.
