Altrincham-based New Care has opened the doors to its latest care facility – the £12.5m Hamptons Care Centre in Lytham St Annes in Lancashire

New Care enlisted help from the care home’s first resident Joan Wightman, who, aged 92, had only just moved in a few days earlier.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Fylde, John and Geraldine Singleton also participated in the official opening, cutting the red ribbon.

The Hamptons, which is a 76-bed ‘new generation’ care facility, will create approximately 100 local jobs. It has already welcomed nine residents, with 20 further residents scheduled to move in this month.

Cllr Singleton, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to visit The Hamptons and I am honoured to have officially opened this superb care facility, alongside the delightful Joan Wightman. The care home is like a hotel; inviting, stylish and very comfortable, while the team at The Hamptons is inspiring. I wish all the residents and the staff all the very best for the future.”

Chris McGoff, chief executive at New Care, said: “We are thrilled that The Mayor and Mayoress of Fylde were able to take time out of their busy schedules to attend the opening event at The Hamptons. We are proud of the facility and were delighted to show them around. The cutting of the red ribbon with our first resident Joan was a truly memorable way to mark the occasion.”

Having visited The Hamptons for a preview ahead of Parliament re-starting, Mark Menzies MP added: “Making sure we have the facilities to look after the aspiring needs of our ageing population is a key priority for me and I was really impressed by the facilities, as well as the friendly and professional team. I very much support the progressive approach to the provision of care offered by New Care and I wish them well at The Hamptons.”

The facility is operated by New Care, a rapidly expanding development-led care home operator.
