Derelict site set to be transformed into neighbourhood of 61 homes

The Maltings

Housing and regeneration specialist Galliford Try Partnerships has started work on its South Ribble development, which will see the construction of 61 new homes.

Following planning approval in July this year, the contractor will now work to transform the derelict site off Hill Road South, Penwortham, near Preston, with 50% of the new homes being made available for open market sale under Galliford Try Partnerships’ Linden Homes brand.

The open market properties will comprise a mix of three and four-bedroom semi and detached family homes.

The remainder of the homes, a combination of two-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom houses, will be sold to first time buyers through a tailor-made scheme to help those stepping onto the property ladder for the first time.

The development, to be known as The Maltings, is a 4.2-acre site previously owned by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). The scheme’s approval follows Galliford Try Partnerships’ acquisition of the site from the HCA earlier this year.

First completions at The Maltings are scheduled for summer 2018.
