Planners approve Liverpool apartment scheme

A £4m apartment scheme in the Ropewalks area of Liverpool city centre has been approved by planners.

The Chavasse Building scheme is for 40 apartments, half of which are “micro apartments” measuring just 34 sq metres. There will also be 18 one-bedroom apartments and two two-bedroom units.

Kevin Doran, managing director of Living Brick, said: “We truly believe we are offering a unique proposition to the residential city centre living market.”

The build is scheduled to take around 12 months at the site, which is on the corner of Lydia Ann Street and Suffolk Street, and will include a gym for residents and a Japanese-inspired rooftop garden.

Liverpool contractor Crossfield Construction has been appointed by Living Brick to deliver the project, working alongside Day Architectural and Shape Engineering.

David Cain, director for Crossfield Construction, added: “We are really looking forward to constructing this exciting development for Living Brick in one of the city’s most historic locations.”
