Traffic Alert: M6 Lancashire closed both directions

The M6 in Lancashire is closed in both directions due to a police led incident between J27 (Wigan / Standish) and J28 (Leyland).

North West Motorway Police are at scene.

Northbound road users are advised to leave the M6 at J27 and follow the diversion symbol. Join the A5209 travelling Eastbound until the A49 junction, turn left onto the A49 and travel Northbound.

At the A581 junction turn right and continue along the A581 until the B5252 roundabout. From the B5252 join Exuton Lane and travel Westbound until Central Drive. Continue along Central Drive to the B5248, exiting the B5248 at the A49. Join the B5256 and re-join the M6 at J28.

Southbound road users should follow the above in reverse and use the diversion symbol.

Road users are advised to expect delays and to consider alternative routes for their journeys.
