New food and drink fest destined for Heaton Park

Liverpool Food and Drink Festival, also organised by SK Events

North West events company SK Events is to launch a new food and drink festival called Manchester Eats at Heaton Park next summer.

The event, which takes place on July 7 and 8, will bring together some of the city’s most popular restaurants and bars, as well as top international street food stalls, to transform Heaton Park into a food lovers’ paradise.

Manchester Eats also features an entertaining programme of demonstrations and masterclasses with appearances from high profile celebrity chefs.

Visitors will have the opportunity to sample and buy tasty treats from a range of themed areas including a huge producers’ market, a gin garden, a craft beer zone and a healthy living area.

The event will also feature a dedicated children’s village and acoustic live sets from local bands.

Denise Harris, director at SK Events, said: “Over the past 10 years, we have worked with many of the industry’s top names including Marco Pierre White, The Hairy Bikers, Gino D’Acampo, Tom Kerridge and Yotam Ottolenghi.

“It’s a natural progression for us, as a business, to use our knowledge and expertise to expand our portfolio of large scale food and drink events.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing Manchester Eats to Heaton Park, which is a stunning location. I’m sure it will be a big hit with food lovers from across the region.”

Executive member for schools, culture and leisure at Manchester City Council, Cllr Luthfur Rahman, said: “We look forward to hosting this special summer event, which will offer some of the best food and drink to be found in Manchester, all in the glorious surroundings of one of our greatest green gems.”
