MSP releases footage of Bright Building birth

Manchester Science Partnerships has released new time-lapse footage of its 70,000sq ft Bright Building taking shape.

The building opened its doors in September and is the first new build on Manchester Science Park in 15 years.

It was developed for MSP by its majority shareholder, Bruntwood. Architectural firms BDP and Sheila Bird Group were responsible for the design, with Marcus Worthington Construction acting as contractor.

The building’s design has drawn universal praise and it was shortlisted for Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Building of the Year.

Innovate UK’s Internet of Things demonstrator project, CityVerve, is now headquartered at the building, with MSP a lead partner in the initiative.

It is also home to digital incubation hub Mi-IDEA. A collaboration between MSP and Cisco, Mi-IDEA is a new post-accelerator centre to support start-ups to scale and to provide a space for co-innovation in the region.
