£45m leisure development adds to line-up

South Manchester’s newest leisure destination is now 90% let following latest additions to its growing line-up.

Another 19,400 sq ft has been let at Redrock Stockport, which opened its doors in November, with Loungers and The Gym Group signing up to the scheme.

Loungers has started fitting out its new Berretto Lounge ahead of opening on January 24.

The company will occupy a 4,400 sq ft unit that overlooks the public square linking Redrock with Stockport’s main retail centre, which attracts over 10 million shoppers each year.

Meanwhile, The Gym Group has signed up to take a double unit totalling 15,000 sq ft .

The companies join The Light Cinema, PizzaExpress, Zizzi, Mangobean Coffee and Gourmet Burger Kitchen at the development.

We had been looking for a suitable site in Stockport for some time so Redrock is a key location for The Gym Group, strengthening our position in the North West where we are currently underrepresented. Members at Redrock will benefit from non-contract membership that is open 24/7, giving the people of Stockport more flexibility than they have ever had before.”

Cllr Kate Butler, Stockport Council’s cabinet member for economy and regeneration, said: “The success of the Redrock development is integral to our continuing town centre regeneration plans and with visitor numbers already exceeding all expectations, it’s a huge pleasure to welcome Loungers and The Gym Group to add to that success. We’ve a lot to be proud of in Stockport and Redrock is proving a big hit with locals and visitors alike.”
