MCR Property Group man is star turn at professionals property lunch

Chris Taylor

Key figure in the Manchester property sector Chris Taylor is the guest speaker at the first lunch for property professional hosted by TheBusinessDesk.com of 2018.

The event takes place at The Restaurant Bar and Grill on John Dalton Street, Manchester, on Thursday, February 22, starting at noon with the event scheduled to close at 3pm.

Chris is the managing director of Regency Residential and fund manager of parent company MCR Property Group.

He has worked for MCR for eight years, following several years in various property industry roles.

Chris has a major part in navigating through the dislocation in the market and has helped create the dynamic model that MCR has continued to replicate since 2012, allowing the business to expand from its Manchester headquarters with further offices opened in Birmingham, London and Leeds.

In January 2017, he was instrumental in moving the MCR model forward by launching Regency Residential – a natural move given the demand for housing and shortage of supply.

To date, Regency Residential has developed more than 2,000 units nationally, with schemes and a pipeline of more than 5,000 potential units coming to the market in 2018 and beyond.

Forthcoming developments including Trafford Plaza, the first new-build high rise development in Old Trafford and Chesser House, the commercial-to-residential transformation of a 1970s office block in Edinburgh.

MCR Property Group also has in excess of 1,000 Built to Rent homes in planning for its flagship development at the New Monaco site in Birmingham city centre.

Chris manages a diverse portfolio of assets, including 4 million sq ft of industrial space and a further 2 million sq ft of office space, an airport and shopping centres.

He will explain the natural move in the MCR business model to encompass further growth into the residential sector, with commercial-to-residential development a key priority focus forward for the group.
