Cheshire building tech firm’s success in London hospitality market boosted by contract with Mayfair A-lister club

Ben Patterson and Paul Murphy outside RIBA North, the RIBA's national architecture centre on Liverpool's World Heritage Waterfront. It opened in June 2017 and Intecho provided full lighting controls throughout.

A Knutsford company which specialises in sophisticated intelligent building technologies and whose latest contract has seen it working on the £55m redevelopment of Annabel’s private members club in London says it is gearing up for a year of substantial growth in 2018.

Intecho is currently blazing a trail in the London hospitality market and in the high end residential market where it says its custom built lighting and building control systems are “very much in demand”.

Founded by Paul Murphy and Ben Patterson in 2010, Intecho has recently completed a string of contracts in the London restaurant and bar market.

As well as the Annabel’s contract, Intecho has been involved in contracts at The Ivy and Sexy Fish restaurants in London.

Intecho has also completed lighting projects at five Motel One hotels, including two in Manchester, and completes work at the brand’s latest Glasgow hotel this month which will become the city’s largest hotel.

Looking ahead to the remainder of 2018, the company has a number of large scale residential projects under way and is also working on the refurbishment of the Low Wood Bay Resort and Spa on Lake Windermere, part of the English Lakes Hotels group.

Murphy said: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work on so many high-profile projects in the last year and to have established ourselves as one of the go-to suppliers for the delivery of sophisticated control systems.

“Intelligent lighting and intelligent buildings are now becoming reasonably standard, but with our experience and expertise we can take it to another level. For us it’s all about attention to detail and allowing our clients, whether residential or commercial, to get the very best out of their projects and interiors. We have worked hard to establish a reputation as a go to company with our ability to take on even the most challenging projects.

“By providing really sophisticated building systems, we help our clients to reflect their brand and allow their customers to gain maximum enjoyment from the environment into which they have stepped.”
