Over 100 jobs saved as fire protection firm is bought out of administration

A&F Sprinklers

More than 110 jobs have been saved after a fire protection firm was bought out of administration.

Fire protection specialist A&F Sprinklers has acquired Manchester firm Hall Fire Protection Ltd from the administrators.

The sale will safeguard the jobs of Hall’s 111 employees and its Greater Manchester site and strengthens A&F Sprinklers’ group of businesses.

Rochdale based A&F Sprinklers is known in the industry for its services and technologies.

It works with high profile retailers and in commercial and residential sectors, as well as distribution and construction industries.

The deal will create one of country’s largest independently owned fire sprinkler companies and is one of the largest acquisitions in the sector in recent times.

Hall’s Worsely site will now operate as A&F Sprinkler Services Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary, with A&F Sprinklers managing director Mark Stansfield presiding over both companies.

He said: “This is a significant step in our growth strategy within the UK fire protection industry. The services offered by this new company are highly complementary to our strong core business.

Mark-Stansfield

“The seamless transfer of business to A&F Sprinklers Services Ltd consolidates our leading brand position, protects skills, creates a solid platform for future development and provides enhanced fire protection services which ultimately save lives, property and the environment.”

“This acquisition complements A&F Sprinklers’ national integrated design and installation capabilities and harnesses the scale and strategically located engineers of the former Hall Fire Protection workforce.”
Both companies are authorised to install and service any sprinkler system in the UK.

The deal will mean the firm can offer broader coverage and faster responses and further blends main contracting, multiworks, rapid contracts and servicing.

In addition, it will strengthen the wider A&F Sprinkler Group portfolio which also includes Fire-Mech Fixings providing fabrication of bespoke bracketry to the fire and mechanical industries and the sole UK and Ireland distributor of the Gr8lok grooved fittings product range from American company Anvil International.

The business is expected to create ten to 15 positions over the next 12 months.
