People on the Move: FRP Advisory; Hill Dickinson
Specialist business advisory firm FRP Advisory has boosted its Manchester team with a trio of manager appointments.
Dean Curtis, joins the corporate finance team from Beever and Struthers.
He will work with partners Adrian Gare and Martyn Rickels to offer a range of corporate finance services to both owner-managed and private equity-backed clients.
With more than 10 years’ experience, Tim Smith joins the restructuring and insolvency team.
Having previously worked for a Big Four firm and an independent practice, he will now assist North West companies of a range of sizes that are facing financial difficulties.
Alex Starling will provide businesses across the North West with both corporate finance and restructuring support. He joins FRP Advisory’s team from Deloitte, where he worked as a manager in its transaction services team.
Gare said: “To offer a comprehensive suite of corporate finance support to our clients, it’s vital that we invest in our team. Businesses across the region are continuing to invest and drive growth, and these appointments will ensure that we continue to provide the independent, expert advice our team has built its reputation on.”

FRP Advisory now employs more than 300 people across 19 locations, including Manchester and Preston in the North West.

Commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has appointed partner Matt Noon to its board.
Noon is a corporate partner based in Hill Dickinson’s Liverpool headquarters. He joined the firm in 2010, became a partner in 2013 and has more than 16 years’ post-qualification experience acting primarily on mainstream M&A and venture capital work.
Well-known in the North West business community, Noon also sits on the board at business membership organisation Professional Liverpool, a role which he has held since 2016.
He is also a trustee of the Wirral Youth Zone (The Hive) and company secretary at the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership.
