Stockport based independent cash and carry business Parfetts, has announced the purchase of a new depot.

The purchase of the Blakemore Middlesbrough depot is extremely significant for the employee owned company.

It is the first time in over 10 years that Parfetts has expanded through acquisition or new depot openings.

The purchase of a new depot is fundamental to the company’s success, securing its future and ensuring its continued growth.

Fieldfisher and Parfetts have a long standing and historic relationship; Fieldfisher partner Graeme Nuttall has advised the company on all stages of transferring the ownership of the company to its employees commencing over ten years ago and resulting in the Parfetts business becoming fully employee owned in October 2013.

Mary Erb, corporate partner in Fieldfisher’s Manchester office, led the acquisition of Blakemore Middlesbrough.

Mary said “I am extremely honoured for Fieldfisher to have been appointed to work on this acquisition and to play a part in the continued growth and development of Fieldfisher’s relationship with Parfetts.

“The company has a rich history and is renowned amongst retailers and caterers throughout the North West of England.

“The acquisition will significantly increase the firm’s trading in the North East and is a strategic move that will widen the reach of the Parfetts brand, bringing its successful model to a new region.”

The completion comes after Fieldfisher announced its annual results, with a 24% increase in turnover across the firm and an £11million revenue income in Manchester, 14.5% ahead of budget.
