Firm sets up new consultancy to work with football clubs

A new boutique advisory and consultancy service which will offer support and guide to football clubs through a sale, purchase or financial restructuring has been launched.

Bimor Football Group brings together a team which has worked at senior levels within football clubs, from Premier League to League 2, and for the sport’s governing bodies.

The new company is being launched by Liverpool-based Bimor Advisory led by senior partner Matthew Dunham, who has advised more than 30 league and non-league clubs.

Mr Dunham has worked on a series of high-profile cases over the years, including the receivership of the Free Trade Hall Hotel.

He was also administrator of Bury Football Club, helping it out of insolvency, and worked with Barnsley Football Club.

Mr Dunham has advised on more than 20 other football-related restructurings and is retained by the Football League as an expert on sporting

The consultancy advises on and carries out operational reviews; gives advice on finance raising; restructuring; sale preparation; and identifying new revenue generating opportunities.

It also has the expertise to advise and support a club’s owners in preparing for sale, assisting potential purchasers with proposals and helping to manage a successful ownership transition.

Bimor Football Group also offers full communication and reputation management support through partners Clein Melville Consultants.

Clein Melville has experience of working with football clubs to manage the fan and media interest a club attracts particularly at times of change.

Expert media training and social media management will be part of the service making Bimor Football Group a full-service consultancy.
