Manchester’s Clippers Quay opens for rent

Clippers Quay

Grainger, the residential landlord and provider of modern rental housing, has released its first apartments at Clippers Quay in Salford Quays.

The scheme is exclusively for renters, with the first apartments ready for occupation in early autumn 2018.

When complete, Clippers Quay will feature 614 one-, two-, and three-bedroom rental apartments spread across three individually designed and themed buildings, each with their own distinct look and feel, and more than 7,000 sq ft of amenity space for exclusive use by residents.

Residents can also book out a separate, stylishly furnished, fully-fitted private kitchen and dining area to entertain large groups of guests.

The apartments, which start from £740 per month, are aimed at those living and working in and around the Manchester city centre and Salford Quays areas.

In accordance with Grainger’s strict affordability criteria, a couple with a household income of as little as £22,200 can have the opportunity to live at this new waterfront address.

The average full-time salary within one mile of Clippers Quay is £23,464 per annum.

For three friends sharing, living at Clippers Quay can be economical, with each person paying as little as £450 per month.

Furthermore, reflecting the desire to settle down while renting, Grainger will be offering its ‘stay as long as you want’ tenancy, with options of up to three years.

Residents will also be able to enjoy a long list of services and amenities at no extra cost, including: Dedicated superfast fibre optic broadband and Wi-Fi provided by Virgin Media; Access to the 24-hour onsite gym; 24-hour concierge and onsite management team; More than 7,000 sq ft of social spaces, including a residents’ lounge, cinema room, dining suite, co-working spaces, private gardens; And Amazon lockers and parcel collection service.

This riverside development is the latest scheme to be delivered by Grainger, which offers rental properties across the country.

The demand for renting continues to rise in Manchester and Grainger says it is aiming to improve what is on offer.

There is also a pet-friendly option, making it one of the few places in Manchester where tenants can rent an apartment with their four-legged friend.

Nicola Renny, general manager at Clippers Quay, said: “Clippers Quay will bring a new type of renting to Manchester, with smart, stylish apartments and amenities at a price that the majority of people working in Manchester can afford.

“Much is made about the need to rent due to house prices, but we believe in making renting an attractive choice, too.

“Our aim is to make renting as convenient, fun and flexible as possible.

“It is important to us that we create a community that brings together people from all walks of life. We want people to develop friendship circles, rather than just soon-forgotten, distant neighbours.

“Our aim is to redefine the way that people rent property, and at Clippers Quay we will do this by creating a brilliant new community that combines the flexibility of renting, with professional services to give our residents the best experience possible.

“Clippers Quay will offer a place you can call home, but with many of the same amenities of a hotel.”

She added: “Salford Quays has undergone huge changes over the last five years and boasts a huge mix of cultural hotspots, leisure facilities and workplaces.

“Media City has helped to make the Quays a thriving hub for the creative industries, while Soapworks is attracting tech businesses. With the Lowry arts centre celebrating its 18th birthday, there’s something for everyone on the doorstep of Clippers Quay.”
