Luxury hotel for dogs to open for business

Dog Hotel

A luxury hotel for dogs is opening for business in The Wirral.

The £1m hotel has a bone-shaped swimming pool, concierge service, mood lighting and a penthouse suite.

Love Ur Dog is opening in Prenton this week and has been created by Scott Williams.

The 41-year-old spotted a gap in the market when he struggled to find somewhere to leave his three dogs.

He told the Liverpool Echo: “My own dogs like to sit on the couch and on my knee so it never did seem right to put them in a metal cage.

“I wanted somewhere which treated them like they get treated at home with me.

“We are licenced to have 80 dogs on the premises but we are limiting it to around 40 as we are going for more luxury than quantity.

“We aren’t looking to make money back on this but I wanted to create somewhere that make dogs happy.

“Each dog who comes to us will be given a medical assessment and owners will have a questionnaire to fill out telling us what their dogs likes and dislikes.

“We aim to make it as much like their home as possible.”

There are three different types of rooms; executive suites, garden view rooms and penthouse suites. Some rooms come with a TV and bed.

And worried owners can even keep an eye on their pets via a webcam system.

The rooms have underfloor heating, mood lighting, memory foam mattresses and toys.

Prices start from £25 per night.
