Manchester legal firm Forbes Solicitors has built on the increasing success of its corporate team by completing deals totalling more than £150m in the first quarter of its financial year.

Partner and head of corporate, Pauline Rigby, said the results showed that the Lancashire deals market was booming, with Forbes’ expertise helping companies take advantage of the opportunities it was providing.

The corporate team has grown by almost 400% in the past three years, driven by its successful outcomes for clients.

The wider part of the corporate team, which includes Forbes’ commercial advisors, has also grown, creating an overall team of 18 advisors within the corporate and commercial field.

The firm said its expansion shows that as well as attracting and retaining an increased client base, Forbes is recruiting and keeping hold of the best lawyers.

It is in response to not only the increase in larger, and more complex, projects, but also the sheer volume of transactions across a range of values, from company buy-outs to business expansions and contractual issues, said the company.

Ms Rigby said: “The deals undertaken in the last quarter represent the broad spread of our client base, from local SMEs to larger corporate clients.

“What is clear is that whatever the size of the deal, our clients value the team’s ability to provide outstanding commercial advice alongside practical, real people solutions.”

Forbes employs 320 staff, including 45 partners, across its eight North West offices.
