Preston-based vehicle leasing and fleet management firm KeyFleet has expanded with the launch of KeyFinance, a new division offering commercial finance solutions to growing companies across the North West.

Headed by commercial finance specialist Liam Mulligan, the new arm of the business has already secured funding lines with more than 20 of the UK’s leading banks and funding houses to give SME’s access to the best rates and to enable KeyFinance to be flexible in terms of type of funding, asset type and credit status.

KeyFinance will be able to access funding for growing and progressive businesses, even when the main banks and traditional lenders have been unable to agree a deal.

The new division is expected to create up to six jobs.

Marking 10 years in business, the broader offering has been a long-term vision of KeyFleet founder and managing director, Marc Mcloughlin.

The launch follows a chance meeting between Liam and Marc at a BNI networking group, where the pair decided to join forces and leverage their collective expertise and contacts to help local businesses to access funds they need to grow.

Prior to joining the firm, Liam worked in commercial finance for 14 years and arranged deals in almost every sector, including sport, medical, agricultural and leisure and hospitality.

With a background in law and accountancy, Liam’s experience and proven track record will enable KeyFinance to offer a supportive service, unlocking funds for a wide range of businesses.

Marc Mcloughlin said: “We generate a lot of business through BNI referrals and existing relationships, so to meet Liam at one of meetings was a great stroke of luck.

“He shares the KeyFleet ethos of offering a friendly and transparent service, helping local businesses to access deals that are right for them.

“Once funds are released they often generate work for other BNI members, so it’s a great way of holistically supporting business growth in the region.”

He added: “Liam has the drive and expertise to lead KeyFinance and our existing customers are very receptive to the fact that we can now help them in a broader way.”

Liam Mulligan, KeyFinance business finance specialist, said: “KeyFleet looks after thousands of businesses for fleet and their sourcing and funding of cars or vans.

“A lot of these clients now want to fund HGV, forklifts, warehouses, invoices and more, so it’s great that we can help on other levels.

“We ‘hand-hold’ all our clients from the beginning, so we build trust and gain a deep understanding of their business quickly.”
