A St Helens waste disposal firm is planning to expand into the North East after landing £350,000 worth of funding.

Qualitech is expanding with the support of a funding deal from NatWest.

The hazardous waste disposal expert has purchased new premises in Hartlepool, to help meet rising demand for its services in the region.

The funding is part of a seven figure flexible funding package from NatWest, which provides Qualitech with working capital to invest in staff and equipment across the business.

Qualitech specialises in a wide range of waste management services, including hazardous and liquid waste removal, tank cleaning, industrial cleaning and 24-hour emergency response.

The £15m-a-year turnover business operates sites in St Helens, North Wales and South Wales, employing 45 members of staff.

Roy Brunt, director at Qualitech, said: “Our ability to offer a highly-specialised waste management service, 24-hours-a-day has led to strong demand for our expertise right across the UK.

“To meet this demand, we needed to access the finance that would allow us to increase our capacity and invest further into our people and equipment.

“NatWest’s knowledgeable team and flexible funding has been able to facilitate this.

“As a business, we’re tremendously ambitious about the growth potential we see and the funding we’ve secured leaves us ideally positioned for the future.

“Our newest base in the North East will play a key strategic role in the future of the business; allowing us to extend our services in the region and establish a strong base from which to grow further.”

Daniel Martin, senior relationship manager at NatWest said: “We’ve worked closely with Roy and Qualitech to ensure we could put in place the funding the business needed to power its growth strategy and it’s fantastic to see that funding now put to great use.

“The business has the backing it needs to continue to go from strength to strength.”
