Solicitors expands into medical negligence and industrial disease cases

Firm will take on asbestos-related cases

Manchester-based AWH Solicitors is introducing two additional specialisms to its practice after the acquisition of one of the country’s leading industrial disease specialists, Roberts Jackson, on September 28.

Award-winning Wilmslow-based firm, Roberts Jackson, was sold after a brief spell in administration.

AWH said medical negligence and industrial disease claims will now be taken on from November 5, following the acquisition.

AWH Solicitors currently deals with housing disrepair, immigration law, family law, employment law, conveyancing, HPI claims and personal injury.

The firm said these additional areas of specialty are welcomed as it recognises the growing importance of both due to a nationwide rise in medical negligence and industrial disease cases.

In industrial disease, solicitors see an increased demand for compensation for those suffering from asbestos-related illness, including mesothelioma – a trend that experts have said will continue for another couple of years.

AWH Solicitors was previously known as AWH Legal, which is the successor practice of Carter Law.

The firm said it will also be recruiting heavily across the business to manage growing demand.
