Lake District campsite sells for £1.65m

A popular campsite in the Lake District has exchanged hands for £1.65m.

The Merckel family, has sold Eskdale Campsite in Boot, Cumbria to the National Trust. The site sold from a guide price of £1.65m.

The 8.5 acre – 3.4 hectares – site located on the western side of the Lake District National Park has permission for 100 camping and motorhome pitches and ten camping pods.

There is also a self-catering Camping Barn and a four bedroom farm cottage.

A shop, laundry area and two children play areas are also on the site.

The sale was handled by estate agents Savills.

“We are pleased to have secured the National Trust as the new owner on behalf our client.”
