The clothes chain set up by Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has called in the administrators putting 180 jobs at risk.

The move has come after weeks of speculation about the future of the Manchester based clothing firm Pretty Green.

Simon Thomas and Nicholas O’Reilly, partners in Moorfields Advisory Limited, have been appointed joint administrators of Pretty Green Limited and Pretty Green Group Limited.

Pretty Green which was founded in 2009 and has 12 stores across the UK.

Moorfields were called in as advisors several weeks ago and according to reports in the retail trade press a number of buyers are interested in acquiring the label.

A notice placed in the window of one of the shops said: “All stores and concessions will continue trading until further notice.”

Pretty Green is not immune to the challenges facing the UK high street as customers migrate from purchasing in store to online,” said a spokeswoman for Moorfields.

The men’s fashion label, which has Gallagher as its largest shareholder, has 12 stores across the UK and is sold at concessions in several House of Fraser department stores.

According to reports the firm took a major financial hit when House of Fraser went into administration.

It was reportedly left around £500,000 out of pocket from House of Fraser’s collapse, becoming one of hundreds of suppliers to lose money.

Pretty Green recorded a turnover of £38.2m in the 16 months to January 2018 with pre-tax losses narrowed to £1.5m from a £5.6m loss.
