The private property arm of EG Group – the fuel and convenience retailer which has 5,500 sites worldwide – is to build an industrial and logistics development close to the M40.

Cherwell District Council gave planning permission to construct two buildings of 210,000 sq ft & 140,000 sq ft respectively with the ability to deliver a further building up to 165,000 sq ft across 30 acres of previously allocated development land.

“We are delighted with this news which is testament to the hard work of Alex Kenwright and our team of professional consultants,” said commented David Myers, UK Property Director for Blackburn based EG Group and Monte.

“Frontier Park Banbury is another step by Monte to diversify our commercial development portfolio, deliver high quality product and create an array of new employment opportunities for local residents.”

Following their acquisition of GVA, Avison Young are the sole agents for the scheme, which is set to break ground this Autumn with practical completion scheduled for Q3 2020.

Rob Watts of Avison Young said: “Frontier Park is perfectly situated to serve the Midlands, London and Home Counties markets, providing easy access onto Junction 11 of the M40 and beyond with excellent roadside visibility for occupiers.

“Cherwell District has a well-established manufacturing and distribution tradition with approximately 4,800 residents seeking job opportunities. The area also benefits from above-average employment levels in skilled trades, sales and customer service sectors.

“Frontier Park is ideally place to accommodate the wide range of employment opportunities along the M40 Corridor. We are very happy to be involved with this landmark scheme.”
