Motorists warned to expect delays following M60 closure

Motorists are being warned to expect delays following a closure of a section of the M60 motorway this morning.

A section of the motorway  has been closed at Stockport due to a police incident.

The motorway is shut anticlockwise from junction one, for Stockport Pyramid, and junction 27, for Stockport East.

Police closed the motorway shortly before 6am this morning.

The closure has been extended up to J27 so traffic can be diverted away from the area.

Drivers are being advised to follow the solid square symbol via the A560.

A tweet from North West Motorway Police said: “Good morning everyone. We currently have a block on the ACW carriageway M60 before junction 27 due to an ongoing police incident.

“Expect delays we will try to get you moving as soon as we can.”
