Online letting agency to create 50 jobs at new Manchester HQ

An online accommodation agency is planning to create 50 new jobs after moving into the centre of Manchester.

Accommodation.co.uk has opened its new head office in Spinningfields as its founders announce plans to create 50 jobs over the next three years.

The letting agent, which combines technology with a network of lettings consultants, chose Manchester for its talent pool ahead of the rollout of its new platform.

The jobs will be mainly in property management and marketing.

Aaron Short, co-founder at Accommodation.co.uk said: “Manchester is a hub of creativity and innovation, so it makes sense that we continue to build and develop our business in such a vibrant, future-thinking city.

“There’s so much great talent and energy to help us improve the rental experience.

“We’ve opened one office in the centre of Manchester to start with, and we project that more than 50 jobs will be created as we grow over the coming years, including roles in marketing and property management.”

Accommodation.co.uk’s technology streamlines the rental process by automating the majority of property letting and management tasks.

A central property management team will be based at the company’s Manchester central support centre that will support its network of consultants to create a customer-centric, fairly priced service.

Entrepreneur and experienced property investor John Lomas, 58, along with Aaron, 24, and Matthew Meekins, 23, co-founded Accommodation.co.uk while Aaron and Matthew were studying at the University of Lincoln.

Aaron added: “I used a number of different letting agents during university and quickly realised that other students who rented were having just as poor an experience as I was having.

“There was a lack of transparency throughout and ultimately a poor experience, which is especially apparent in today’s world where people expect a digital solution similar to Uber and Airbnb.

“Whilst at university, I created websites for local businesses and worked with landlords to let out their properties. I bought a house and let this out to other students. Experiencing lettings from the other side of the coin, I discovered that things were just as difficult for landlords thanks to high agency fees, low transparency and poor accountability throughout the process.

“We think our technology is a catalyst for improving the customer journey, and the amazing people we have on the ground will be empowered by our streamlined processes to offer the best service for landlords and tenants. As a result, we can save everyone time and money while helping everyone find happiness at home.”
