Clearwater International takes centre stage for charity

Following an eight-year absence, corporate finance professionals across the North West will be taking the stage at the Y Factor charity gig in September to raise money for Manchester-based charity Mancunian Way.

Michael Reeves, chief executive at global corporate finance and advisory firm, Clearwater International, said: “Over the last series of six events we raised more than £200,000 for our nominated charities and now that we’re back we’re looking forward to supporting another great cause.”

Performers will be accompanied by a live band, led by Jeremy Smith, director at ABN Amro Commercial Finance, raising money for vulnerable individuals across Manchester.

Set up as a direct consequence of the riots in 2011, Mancunian Way has been working tirelessly with vulnerable and disenfranchised individuals.

Leading the Clearwater team is partner and international head of TMT, Carl Houghton.

Reeves said: “Once again this will be a great event and an opportunity for our professional community to support Mancunian Way with their ambitions.

“Carl has been a great supporter of the Y Factor events, and we’re behind him all the way this year to represent the Clearwater team.”

This latest sponsorship builds on Clearwater’s commitment to support charities and local initiatives through the Clearwater Foundation, and its ongoing support for teams to take part in various activities to raise funds.

As part of Clearwater’s wider CSR initiatives, the Foundation supports the improvement of peoples’ lives throughout the world, providing support through volunteering and hands-on-help.

The Y Factor gig will be held at the Gorilla in Manchester on September 19, and hosted by MC Michael Taylor from Manchester Metropolitan University, along with a host of celebrity judges.
