Solicitors Clarke Willmott in Manchester has advised on the sale of two Cheshire day nurseries to Kids Planet day nurseries group.

Rainbow Nursery, with operations in Middlewich, and Haslington, near Crewe, was established by experienced childcare operators Paul and Alison Sumner in 1999.

Helen Wong, partner in Clarke Willmott’s corporate team, assisted by solicitor Sarah Bennett, closed the deal in three months.

“Working with Paul and Alison was a delight. They are both consummate professionals and have huge expertise in the childcare sector,” said Helen.

“Rainbow nurseries offer a homely, friendly environment where interests, concerns, empathy and warmth are of the upmost importance.

“Our clients are very pleased to have found the right operator to enable the nurseries to continue to offer the excellent service they provide to local families.”

Lymm-based Kids Planet, established by working mum Clare Roberts and her father John Hoban in 2008, has grown over the past decade to become a leading early years provider.

The acquisition takes Kids Planet to 40 settings in the North West and the Midlands, providing care to more than 5,000 children.

Tom Shorten of Pinsent Masons acted for Kids Planet. Sofia Beck acted on behalf of property brokers Christie & Co in brokering the transaction.

Clarke Willmott’s team specialises in buying and selling children’s nurseries across England and Wales, acting for individuals, groups, private equity and overseas purchasers.
